A group of NASA astronauts demonstrated what happens when a GoPro camera is thrown into space, letting it venture into zero gravity.

For this experiment, which took place in 2014, astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS) created a floating water bubble and then threw their GoPro camera inside it.

The test was set up by crew members from NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA), who decided to explore “the phenomenon of surface tension of water in microgravity.”

In the clip, you can see astronauts Reid Wiseman and Steve Swanson “creating” a water ball in the air, thanks to the lack of gravity on the ISS, before pushing the camera into it.

The crew then shows footage from the camera inside and outside the water bubble as it floats around the room. After filming the camera for a few moments, the astronauts removed the camera from the water.
