Security cameras recorded the moment when a resident from a city in Santa Catarina, Brazil, came face to face with a puma in the middle of the street.
Despite the terrifying footage, the Environmental Military Police (PMP) emphasized that there have been no recorded attacks by the animal and no other sightings in the region.
In the clip, which went viral on social media last Wednesday (7th), it is possible to see the puma walking down the street when it encountered a dog that started barking. The resident, upon noticing its presence, can be seen moving away from the area.
Authorities suspect the animal may be hiding in the forest. According to Sergeant Osmar Sônego, commander of the Environmental Military Police in the city, the population has been advised on how to deal with potential encounters with the big cat.
