“I used to shave regularly for years and it felt like an arduous task, but also something necessary — as a woman — to feel pretty, hygienic, and attractive,” said Georgia Peck, a holistic health coach, in her viral TikTok video.

Peck then explained the reason behind her decision. “Honestly, it’s a lot of work, and the prickly stubble that started growing back a day after shaving was quite uncomfortable.”

“It became yet another thing I was trying to fix within myself that wasn’t inherently broken. Why is it considered totally normal for men to have body hair, but for women it’s seen as unattractive and unhygienic?” Peck reflected.

The video has already garnered over 8 million views, and she has received a lot of support from commenters. “I wish more people did this — it would be more normalized. Shame-based choices are terrible,” one user wrote.

“I never understood why women with body hair are seen as gross. Honestly, I think it’s so beautiful,” another added. “It’s so crazy how people are afraid of body hair,” a third person said. “Getting over that is a big step in the fight against misogyny,” another commented.
