Madison Vaughan shared the message in a post on TikTok and never imagined it would go viral so quickly. The emotional clip has already garnered over 500,000 views and many heartfelt comments from online users.
In the video, Vaughan explains the story: “I’ve lived in the same neighborhood for about 22 years, I lived on the same street as my mom, and now I’m moving to a new address where he won’t be my mailman anymore. So, I wrote him a card, gave money for holiday gifts, and thanked him for being my mailman.”
She then shares that she received a response that left her in tears: “He wrote something really thoughtful,” she says in the clip, sharing parts of the message, which ends with: “It was a pleasure being your mailman.”
Tearfully, the TikToker tries to explain the emotion of reading those words: “He saw me grow, and I saw him grow too… This ruined me, I will keep this forever.”
