The X, previously known as Twitter, introduces the feature of audio and video calls on its platform. The new feature is currently available, in its initial version, exclusively for iOS users and subscribers of the social network.

Users of Apple‘s operating system, who are premium X subscribers, can now test the new feature, which is enabled by default but can be activated or deactivated in the social network’s privacy settings.

Elon Musk, the owner of X, had previously announced audio and video calls on the platform back in August and has now commented on the new feature’s release. “Early version of video & audio calling on X,” the billionaire simply stated.

Musk’s goal is to transform ‘X’ into a ‘super app,’ challenging platforms like Meta, Google, and Twitch, going beyond the entertainment of a social network by offering other comprehensive services, such as financial transactions.
