Exceeding expectations, Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi recorded a record value in smartphone sales in the first quarter of 2025.

Revenue for the period reached ¥111.3 billion (approximately US$15 billion), a 47.4% increase compared to the previous year. Growth was observed across all business sectors, with a special focus on smartphones.

Mobile phone sales increased by 8.9% compared to the previous year, while lifestyle and Internet of Things devices rose by 58.7%, with air conditioner sales up 65%.

According to a company statement, with these increases, Xiaomi smartphones regained the top position in mainland China, capturing an 18.8% market share.

Additionally, the average selling price of smartphones also rose, reaching a record ¥1,211 (US$168) per unit in China. Sales of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, launched in February, grew 90% compared to its predecessor.

The strong performance was mainly attributed to premium line smartphones, as sales of phones priced above ¥3,000 (US$417) accounted for 25% of the company’s revenue during the period.

Globally, Xiaomi holds 14.1% of the market, according to Canalys, maintaining its position among the top three global manufacturers for the 19th consecutive quarter.

The company also reported global shipments of 41.8 million smartphones, with year-on-year growth sustained for seven consecutive quarters.
