After a wave of fake trailers made with artificial intelligence took over YouTube, the platform began removing monetization from these channels.

According to a report from Deadline, the channels KH Studio, with over 684,000 subscribers, and Screen Culture, with 1.4 million subscribers, had their trailers demonetized.

These channels are known for producing this type of video, using AI to make it appear as though a popular movie would be getting a sequel. Some of these videos have over 10 million views.

In addition to being misleading content, causing many unsuspecting people to believe it’s a genuine trailer, many channels may have fallen into copyright penalties for using images similar to existing brands or characters, as well as the appearance of actors.

The Deadline report also states that studios such as Warner Bros. Discovery and Sony were behind the crackdown on this type of content and had attempted to reverse the monetization for themselves.
