After announcing that it would block users who use adblocks, YouTube has now started displaying a countdown in a pop-up to deter adblockers.

Initially, YouTube was showing a warning to users who use adblock, giving them three chances to disable the tool and continue watching videos. Now, the new measure displays the same message, but with a countdown.
The pop-up alert from YouTube appears with a clock icon, which can last for 30 to 60 seconds, in the upper right corner of the screen. At the end of the countdown, the platform will automatically display an advertisement.
YouTube’s notice still offers two alternatives for users who use adblocks: “allow YouTube ads” or “try YouTube Premium.” The measure has started to be implemented for various users who use ad blockers around the world.
