After the creator of ChatGPT and CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman, criticized Grok, the new artificial intelligence from xAI, by Elon Musk, the billionaire didn’t take it lightly and ridiculed Altman’s chatbot.

On the occasion, Sam posted on his official X account, formerly known as Twitter, implying that he considers Grok a cringe chatbot, and with ‘boomer humor’ (a term used in reference to older people).
Altman also references the GPTs, announced at the first OpenAI developers’ conference, which function as a personalized ChatGPT. Anyone, without the need for programming knowledge, can create a specific chatbot within the OpenAI platform.
In the post, the CEO shares some screenshots where he asks ChatGPT to “create a chatbot that responds to questions with boomer and cringe humor, in a slightly embarrassing way to shock and generate laughter.” ChatGPT responds to the request by saying its name is Grok and even includes the subtitle, ‘I tell jokes like your grandfather’s father.’ In the caption, Sam Altman comments that “GPTs can still save a lot of effort.”
Elon Musk didn’t like the ‘joke’ at all and responded to Sam by mocking ChatGPT‘s humor: “when it comes to humor, GPT-4 is as funny as a screen door on a submarine.” Musk also accuses OpenAI of censorship and makes some insults towards the chatbot.
GPT-4? More like GPT-Snore!
When it comes to humor, GPT-4 is about as funny as a screendoor on a submarine.
Humor is clearly banned at OpenAI, just like the many other subjects it censors.
That’s why it couldn't tell a joke if it had a goddamn instruction manual. It's like…

ChatGPT (Sam Altman) vs Grok (Elon Musk)
Grok was announced by xAI, Elon Musk‘s company, a few days before DevDay, the first developers’ conference of OpenAI. On that occasion, it was revealed that the new chatbot was in testing and was designed to respond to topics with sarcasm, as well as having the ability to search for real-time information on X, a social network owned by the billionaire.
Sam Altman and Elon Musk were co-founders of OpenAI in 2015, but the partnership did not last long, and the entrepreneurs severed ties in the following years.
