According to reports, files saved after May 2023 have gone missing from the cloud storage platform. Through the Google Drive support community, the company acknowledged the issue, characterizing it as a ‘limited subset’ of the Drive desktop apps in versions 84.0.0.0 to 84.0.4.0.
A Google Drive team member, named Saitej, issued a warning to all users through support, recommending not to disconnect the account from the platform and to avoid deleting or moving the application data folder located in Windows (%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Google\DriveFS) and macOS (~/Library/Application Support/Google/DriveFS) until the issue is resolved.
